Young Gardeners Program
integrates high-production gardens & advanced curriculum with the after-school programming at GISD schools.
With the help of countless community volunteers, GISD administration & staff, local families and our enthusiastic students, we send children home with food nearly every week.
Victory Gardens Program
Similar in appearance to our Young Gardeners Program, the Victory Garden Program installs raised beds at partnered sites in the community.
We support more gardens & direct vegetable access across Galveston County
Real Food Project
includes Community Cooking Classes offered free or low-cost to the public & to private groups, Community Dinners coordinated with partners across Galveston County, and most recently, our FreshBox initiative.
Food Access Programs
GOFM strives to make our marketplace accessible and affordable to ALL folks.
All GOFM market locations accept SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program - formerly known as food stamps) & we distribute FMNP-WIC (Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program) vouchers.
Market
Our mission is to build and sustain a local food community through a vibrant, producers-only marketplace, improved food access, and educational programming.
Provide local farmers & food producers a convenient and inexpensive place to sell their products.
Operations
GOFM is a small-but-mighty organization run by a 6-person employee team, an all-volunteer Board of Directors and countless efforts and hours from volunteers in the community.
In order to sustainably ensure GOFM’s longevity, diverse sources of funding are essential.
